  • Check out Ten Actions for Living Green, full of information for each of the actions so you can fulfill your pledge and make your life greener.

Congratulations to these lucky Expo attendees who filled out a commitment card or signed up for the Living Green 365 newsletter and won great prizes. (Thanks to the Expo partners for their generous donations, too!)

RecreationGreen summer recreation and travel tips: Take only photos, leave only footprints

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again... or into the air, on the water, on my bicycle.

No matter where you go or how you get there, you can take steps to reduce the environmental impact of your summer vacation plans.

  • Getting there: Rent a car from an environmental rental car company or request a hybrid from a conventional rental company.
  • Reducing your waste along the way: Carry your own reusable mug to avoid disposable cups. Many gas stations and convenience stores will let you refill your own cup, and sometimes there's a small discount!
  • Staying there: Book your guestrooms, campsites, or meeting rooms in places that are clearly interested in protecting our environment—let the management know that's why you've chosen their establishment. Green Routes can help you locate restaurants, lodging, attractions, and other businesses throughout Minnesota that operate in a sustainable way.
