How to safely exit a moving vehicle

Reducing miles traveled by car benefits the environment and your personal health. Green WheelsUsing alternatives to your personal vehicle might seem like more work — but you are motivated! Do cars belong on the road less traveled?

Give these a try on a Monday morning:

  1. Pretend you’re a tourist. Chances are you haven’t seen everything your neighborhood has to offer. Check out walkscore.com to see what’s nearby. Explore new routes when walking or biking to work.

  2. Take a walking tour (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth). How much do you know about your own city?

  3. Reward yourself with dessert. You’re burning calories if you bike or walk to your destination.

  4. Remember that trying something new can be a form of personal growth. If you’re nervous about riding the train or bus, you can learn about using public transportation first.
