Reducing miles traveled by car benefits the environment and your personal health.  Using alternatives to your personal vehicle might seem like more work — but you are motivated! Do cars belong on the road less traveled?
Give these a try on a Monday morning:
- Pretend you’re a tourist. Chances are you haven’t seen everything your neighborhood has to offer. Check out walkscore.com to see what’s nearby. Explore new routes when walking or biking to work.
- Take a walking tour (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth). How much do you know about your own city?
- Reward yourself with dessert. You’re burning calories if you bike or walk to your destination.
- Remember that trying something new can be a form of personal growth. If you’re nervous about riding the train or bus, you can learn about using public transportation first.
